 Mathematics Seminar Report – Eastern Uganda, 14 April 2026

Introduction

Good Cause Foundation successfully conducted a Mathematics Seminar in Eastern Uganda aimed at improving students’ understanding and performance in mathematics, building confidence in problem-solving, and encouraging academic excellence among learners. The seminar brought together students, teachers, volunteers, and education stakeholders from different schools in the region.

Objectives of the Seminar

  • To improve students’ knowledge and performance in mathematics
  • To strengthen problem-solving and analytical skills among learners
  • To reduce fear and negative attitudes toward mathematics
  • To motivate students to work hard and pursue academic success

Activities Conducted

The seminar included a variety of educational and interactive activities such as:

  • Mathematics lessons and concept explanations
  • Problem-solving exercises and group discussions
  • Interactive question-and-answer sessions
  • Guidance on examination techniques and time management
  • Motivation talks encouraging students to develop confidence in mathematics

Participation and Impact

Students actively participated throughout the seminar by solving questions, engaging in discussions, and asking for clarification on difficult topics. Many participants reported improved understanding of mathematics concepts and increased confidence in handling calculations and examinations.

Teachers also appreciated the seminar for helping students improve concentration, critical thinking, and interest in mathematics.

Challenges

The seminar faced a few challenges including limited learning materials, inadequate time to cover all mathematics topics, and transport difficulties for some participants. Despite these challenges, the seminar was successfully completed through teamwork and commitment from organizers and supporters.

Your support, commitment, and teamwork made a positive impact on the students and schools involved.

The Mathematics Seminar was an important initiative in promoting quality education and strengthening students’ academic abilities in Eastern Uganda.
