One Child, One Future: Educate to Liberate

Across underserved communities, poverty continues to make education difficult for many children. Some families struggle to meet school fees, while others cannot afford the basic scholastic materials their children need. Hunger can make the situation even harder, affecting children's concentration, participation and ability to remain motivated in school.

Good Cause Foundation is working to address these challenges through an integrated education support project that combines school fees, scholastic materials and school lunch for vulnerable learners.

The project will target children entering secondary school and provide continued support throughout the six years of secondary education. It will also support deserving young people joining tertiary institutions where they can acquire practical skills and certification that can improve their future opportunities.

Objectives of the Project

To enable vulnerable children to enroll and remain in school through financial assistance toward school fees and other essential educational costs.

To ensure children have the learning materials they need by supplying scholastic items that support effective classroom participation and learning.

To reduce hunger among vulnerable learners by providing school lunch and helping children remain focused and active during the school day.

To improve educational continuity by supporting learners beyond their first year of secondary school and helping them progress toward completion.

To increase access to skills development and certification by supporting young people entering tertiary institutions after secondary school.

To give children from disadvantaged families a pathway toward greater independence through education, skills and improved opportunities.

Our goal is not simply to help a child enter a classroom. We want to help that child stay, learn, complete their education and gain skills for the future.

Every contribution from a GlobalGiving donor can become part of a child's educational journey—from school fees and a book, to a meal at lunchtime, and eventually to skills and certification at tertiary level.
