Everyone has a coin tucked away in a bag, lost under car seats, in the glove compartment, or lying forgotten in a drawer. A single shilling that often feels too small to matter.
But imagine this: one million people giving just that one coin-the one many consider useless. That would be 10 million shillings raised to rescue children from harm, restore hope, and rebuild lives.
That is the heart of the #OneBobHero campaign. *(“Bob” is slang for “shilling” in Kenya).
Because when we come together, even the smallest act can spark a massive impact.

Meet Shiko: One Bob, One Future
Shiko* (not her real name) is a 13-year-old girl from Nairobi whose life was turned upside down when her guardian died in the wake of civil conflicts and she was left to survive on the streets. Vulnerable and afraid, she was at high risk of exploitation. Shiko’s distress call to the 116 Child Helpline found a child counselor ready to attend to her. The call was answered. Thanks to donations from #OneBobHero supporters like you.
Through the funds raised, Childline Kenya intervened immediately. Shiko was rescued, provided with emergency medical care, and taken to a safe shelter. She has since received trauma counseling and legal support to begin the process of permanent reintegration into a loving foster family.
Today, Shiko is back in school and thriving. She dreams of becoming a teacher so she can help other children feel seen, safe, and supported, just like she was.
