Imagine a world where every child has access to protection services. A world where perpetrators of violence are held accountable without delays or resource barriers. A world where survivors of abuse receive the highest quality care, efficiently, compassionately, and without discrimination.

Most importantly, imagine a world where children live free from abuse and harm.

This is the world that Childline Kenya envisions for all children.

We know that building such a world cannot happen overnight. But every effort, no matter how small, moves us one step closer to that vision. We certainly cannot achieve it alone, but together with you, one shilling at a time and one child at a time, we can make the world a safer place for every child.

A key part of this effort is the National Child Helpline 116, a service managed by Childline Kenya in partnership with the State Department for Children Services. The helpline provides children and families across Kenya with a safe and confidential way to seek help, right from the comfort of their homes.

Most importantly, the service is completely free of charge.

Children in distress often have no resources of their own. Removing the cost barrier ensures that every child, regardless of their circumstances, can reach out for help when they need it most. But for this life-saving service to remain free and accessible, your contribution, however small, makes all the difference.

And sometimes, that difference can change a life forever.

Amina’s Story

Meet 12-year-old Amina.

Late one evening, she sat quietly outside the small house where she worked as a domestic helper. Her hands were sore from a full day of washing clothes and scrubbing floors. She had not eaten since morning, and the fear of another beating for “working too slowly” weighed heavily on her heart.

For months, this had been her life.

A neighbor who had been observing her situation for some time finally decided to act. Quietly and cautiously, the neighbor leaned closer and shared something powerful:

“If you need help, I can call 116 for you.”

Fear was written all over Amina’s face. But after a moment of hesitation, she softly nodded yes.

On the other end of the line was a counselor from Childline Kenya.

For the first time in months, someone listened to Amina, without judgment, without blame, and with genuine concern for her safety.

The helpline team immediately coordinated with local child protection officers, the area chief, and other partners to ensure Amina’s rescue from the abusive environment.

Thanks to the generosity of #OneBobHero supporters, Amina was taken to a safe shelter where she received medical care, counseling, and protection.

Over the following weeks, Childline Kenya worked closely with authorities and community partners to trace her family and ensure her safe reintegration back home.

Today, Amina is back in school.

Her laughter has returned, and she now dreams of becoming a nurse, so that one day she can help others the same way someone helped her.

Your Support Makes This Possible

Every time the Child Helpline 116 answers a call like Amina’s, it is a reminder that your support keeps hope alive for children who feel alone and afraid.

Through the #OneBobHero campaign, we are inviting everyone to become part of this life-saving mission.

The idea is simple but powerful: if 20 million Kenyans contributed just one shilling every month, we could raise enough resources to support hundreds of vulnerable children every month with services such as:

  1. Emergency rescue and protection
  2. Specialized trauma counseling and therapy
  3. Temporary shelter and care
  4. Family tracing and reintegration
  5. Medical assistance
  6. Legal support to pursue justice

Each contribution, no matter how small, helps ensure that when a child calls 116, someone is there to listen and respond.

Become a #OneBobHero

Together, we can build a future where no child suffers in silence.

Your support does not just sustain a helpline—it restores childhoods, protects futures, and gives children the courage to hope again.

Make your commitment today and help save a child.

Every shilling counts.
Every call matters.
Be a #OneBobHero.
