The online and in-person educational sessions, including psycho-social support, continued until the end of the calendar year. Most of the sessions took place in a public school in Saida where many displaced families were being hosted. These families were facing their second or third displacement and the insecurity affected everyone.
The psycho-social sessions for the children were essential to address their emotional and psychological needs. This, in turn, was important support to the families.
During the online sessions the children were engaged by sending their assignments through videos, photos, and worksheets. The teachers recorded the sessions so they could be reviewed and re-shown for others who could not attend.
Our funding during this time covered materials for activities and transportation costs for the animators who also had to move around and keep safe.
The security situation in Lebanon has now eased and the children have returned to the kindergarten in Wadi Zayne.
Now the teachers can combine the psycho-social activities with classes following the curriculum for the last few months of the school year.
Our support can now provide the opportunity for people to resume their important work preparing children for entry into the Lebanese school system. Your donations enable this to happen.
