Winter has arrived in Lebanon, and the children of Wadi El Zeineh Kindergarten welcomed it with smiles—creating snow scenes from cotton and embracing the season with fun and laughter. Teachers continue to introduce new creative activities, to provide emotional relief from the trauma and uncertainty many of them face.
This year’s student body reflects the diversity of the local community, fostering integration, mutual understanding, and social cohesion. Enrollment includes:
The staff similarly represent the community, comprising nine Palestinian refugees, one Syrian refugee, and two Lebanese residents.
Recent funding cuts to UNRWA, the UN agency supporting Palestinian refugees, have placed significant strain on the education sector, resulting in overcrowded classrooms, school mergers, and reduced resources—especially in refugee camps. Located in a designated gathering area, Wadi El Zeineh Kindergarten continues to provide vital early childhood education and support despite these challenges.
