Times of pandemic

By Margarita Pilier | Project Coordinator

Greetings Dear Donor.  Thank you very much for trusting our social initiative. This and all the reports to follow will update you on our progress and how your donation is been used in this project located at the underserved community of Verón, Dominican Republic.

Your contribution will make a real difference in the lives of the underserved people who could be at risk of blindness due to lack of timely ophthalmological care, especially those living at the eastern region of our country.  We hope to continue partnering with you !

We continue intensifying the fundraising aiming to finish the construction of the facilities and equipping of the clinic areas and the staffing as well, in order to start offering the outpatient consultations services in the first stage of the project.

These are hard times, but better times will come !

The construction of the facilities is almost completed, the process was stopped due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the restrictive measures imposed by the Dominican government to stop its spread. It remains to finish part of the operating rooms and equipment in these and other areas.

Meanwhile, a part of the facilities is being used (temporarily) as a pandemic prevention center in La Altagracia province, as a way to collaborate with the health strategies of the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic.

Its completion is scheduled on January 2021 and the provision of the necessary medical equipment during the first quarter of 2021.

We have planned the inauguration of the center on March 2021

We will keep you informed about the progress of the project. If you have any comment, advice or question, please feel free to direct them to us and we will answer as best we can.

Again, thank you very much !

All the best,
