Circle meeting w university service team members

First and foremost, HSP wants to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the donors and supporters who have played a vital role in the continuation of women's circles. These circles have provided a safe space for women to come together and support each other in various aspects of life, including personal growth, career advancement, and community building. Your contributions have made it possible for women to connect, network, and inspire each other, leading to profound personal transformations and positive impacts on our society. Your support has not only sustained the existence of these circles but has also allowed them to expand and reach more women who need them. Thank you for recognizing the value of women's voices and investing in their empowerment.

In the past three months, AMA and HSP have continued meeting with community Women's Well-being Circles. To start the year, our first circle began by asserting that this year be full of light, health, and strength for all, it is the beginning of a year, in which we carry out projects, with health and appreciation of life being of the most important things. In this season of circles, we will be focusing on women's health, including topics of hormonal changes and self-examinations.

Women felt confident in sharing for the first time their fears and concerns about the changes in their bodies. They shared their stories and expressed gratitude for the circles and the beginning of new shared knowledge – one community elder stated that “we have to keep going because our children, grandchildren, and the whole family need us to be with joy in our hearts.”

Our most recent Good Living Well-being Circle was held in the summit community, with the participation of 13 members on the topic of cysts, tumors in the breast, and self-exams.

Thanks to the support of a Virginia University, who donated some implants that contain cysts and tumors, the topic could be developed that it is necessary to be able to perform our self-examination.

With the donation by a Virginia University, it was possible to determine that a member of our Wellbeing Circles is going through a problem with cysts, she states that ¨I have had problems in my right breast but I did not know who to tell … I have them, sometimes I have a lot of pain and burning, it hurts too much, but now I know what is affecting me…” Through her confidence to share her symptoms with the group, this woman has indicated that after Holy Week she will be visiting the General Hospital for tests. We will be keeping in close contact with her and following up.

One of the members of AMA’s leadership team who facilitates discussion in the groups states that “at the end of the activity, the women were encouraged not to be afraid of what is happening in our bodies as well as our homes, it is time to be able to speak without fear. We are here to support each other.”

Once again, HSP thanks you. Your generosity has aided in the provision of tools, skills, and knowledge needed to advance this community of women’s careers, increase their income, and improve their lives. Your support has enabled women to access education, training, mentorship, and resources that were previously out of reach, creating opportunities for them to realize their potential and achieve their goals.

Your commitment to empowering women through education and training has a ripple effect, not only improving their lives but also benefiting their families, communities, and society as a whole. Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in the power of women.
