After a very fruitful 2018 in Uganda, in which FTPF planted and distributed over 47,000 fruit trees to farmers and families throughout the District of Jinja, our friends and partners at the African Partnership on Climate Change Coalition on moving forward with next year's round of saplings.
FTPF has funded a nursery on the outskirts of Jinja in order to house the many thousands of trees that will be grown and distributed in the coming years. Additionally, the nursery serves as a community learning space that trains locals on sustainable growing techniques, proper planting protocol, and as a demonstration plot for organic orchard maintenance--and, the nursery employs villagers and neighbors as maintenance and labor to create more jobs for the community!
Overall, we are so happy with this partnership and program that will continue to serve both rural and urban Ugandan families through environmental protection, healthy food, and personal economies. THANK YOU for your continued support, and please consider donating $20 dollars today to help the cause!
