Despite very challenging circumstances due to the global COVID19 pandemic, we are proud to announce that the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, in collaboration with our generous partners and our amazing local team, has planted and distributed 66,800 new fruit trees throughout the Busoga Kingdom of Uganda this year.
Once mature, each year these trees will result in more than 11 million pounds of oxygen created, 14 million pounds of air pollutants filtered and carbon dioxide sequestered from the atmosphere, and 3 million pounds of fruit produced.
This project illustrates the magic that can happen when local and international nonprofits, corporations, governments, and individuals all come together to work towards a more equitable and sustainable future. As a result, thousands of students and families in the kingdom will benefit for generations. We couldn’t be more grateful to our partners and supporters for believing in the power of fruit trees to improve both individual and global well-being, and to our team in Uganda who worked so very hard to make sure every tree received the love and care that it needed, from planting the seed to finding its final home.
