Dear friend,
We are thrilled to share that we’ve had another incredibly fruitful year in Uganda, planting over 30,000 fruit trees!
Mangoes, jackfruit, tamarind, avocados, and other nutritious, climate-adapted varieties were planted at schools and with low-income households to improve diets and livelihoods in rural Uganda.
We also collaborated with smallholder farmers across the Busoga Kingdom to distribute trees for traditional agroforestry systems. These trees are interplanted with crops like cassava and beans, creating multifunctional, resilient, and sustainable agricultural systems.
Our local team is now busy preparing the nursery for the next round of saplings. Over the coming months, these saplings will be propagated and carefully nurtured in preparation for next year’s planting. Our aim is to plant tens of thousands of trees each year, creating a region filled with healthy, long-lived trees that nourish and sustain Ugandan communities.
