I am Husna with matriculation and belongs to a slim area of Hashim Nagar, Mirpurkhas. I have two sisters and one brother; all are kids and studying now a days in government primary school. No doubt, poverty is the reason as my sisters and brother were out of school because single mother is unable to feed a five members family as well as enroll them in school as my father left us six year ago.
Before getting training of Dress Designing, I used to work in homes to support my mother in washing clothes and dishes as well as preparing food and serving the food. It was really an embarrassing job for me to work in others homes as a servant. But after joining the training course of ARTS Foundation through the Global Giving, the technical skills of sewing clothes, this helped me to increase my income. With the help of ARTS Foundation, I had participated in exhibitions and earned 9700 rupees after selling my products. This was my first success. From that money I purchased one used (second hand) latest model machine for embroidery work too, as it saves my time and also gives good quality embroidery according to the market demand. I appointed one girl as helper, she helps me in my work, after bringing quality in my work people started trusting me, and they started giving me orders for the big marriage ceremonies and festivals.
In future I want to establish vocational center at my home level so that I can provided training and employment for poor girls who live in my slim area. I want to see my name among international dress designer and I hope the Global Giving and ARTS Foundation through the donors like you will keep its supporting role in full filling my ambition
I will say for me that I am no more dependent on any one with thanks to ARTS Foundation, GlobalGiving and the Philanthropists like You.
