I am Sashul of just 17 years, an orphan girl and I could manage to have functional literacy from an adult learning center just 2 years ago.  I have been unable to get education because my mother doesn’t have resources as well as nor her health was allowing to put me in school as my father left us when I was just six years. At the age of six, I started to work to earn because my mother need money for her medication too. I used to serve in homes of the well-off families living near to my home. I start working from early morning to late night, the work included cleanliness of houses, cleaning dishes, washing floors, dusting and pressing clothes etc. I used to work in 6 to 7 homes on daily basis. Through very hectic and hardworking in childhood I could earn rupees 2700 to 3000 only per month. Always my mother been worried in particular when I crossed my age of 15. So, she wanted that I may do any other work which should be safe, secure, respectable and near to my mother as I was becoming young. In continuation, I got admission in an adult literacy center to able to read and write. After, functional literacy course, my mother asked acquire any skill to earn in a decent manner to make myself stronger for long term. In continuation of vocational skills center search, I came to know that ARTS Foundation is providing three months free of cost basic dress making training to orphan and needy girls. I visited ARTS Vocational Training Center along my mother. I found the center an appropriate place with professional instructors to learn dress making. I got application form and submitted it after filling on very next day. And it’s more than pleasure that formally classes have been started on 1st January 2023 and I am here at ARTS Vocational Training Center along my class mate girls.

I am very thankful from my core of heart to individual philanthropists through GlobalGiving and ARTS Foundation for making it possible for me and my class mates to have free and quality learning to be a dress maker as well as stronger.
