As the year come to a close, Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) hosted women's and girl's health and advocacy workshops which aimed to discuss issues affecting them and access reliable information on sexual and reproductive health and non-communicable diseases. The workshop focussed on natural family planing methods and risk factors of non-communicable disease; tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, safe sex and how to prevent diseases related to the consumption of tobacco products. 80 young girls and 5 boys from the Hyher Institute of Professional Development and Training attended the health sensitization and advocacy seminar in person, at mile 4, Nkwen, Bamenda.
Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) aims to increase awareness about sexually transmissible diseases among young people during this christmas season, because this is a tempting season for young people as they go on holidays, they need to be empowered of dangers of unsafe sex, diseases and consumption of tobacco products. This is to ensure that they resume school successfully in January 2024 and do not fall victims of early pregnancy or contract diseases that would affect their education. With the goal of $15,000, your donation of any amount through GlobalGiving will help IAA to continue supporting and empowering young people to manage their health and make informed choices.
Thank you for contributing to the development and empowerment of young people and adolescent girls in our community.
