Because of poverty and other social/traditional norms, it is virtually impossible for vulnerable women to afford a consistent supply of pads at current pricing and distribution channels. Poor girls miss education and are subjected to judgement, exclusion and disgrace by a society that view menstruation as a crime or taboo. Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) is advocating for sexual and reproductive health and right of young people, including adolescent girls and boys and young women and men in Cameroon.
Aside from empowering young people with the skills and knowledge to take controle of their bodies and health future through comprehensive sexuality education, menstrual hygiene management, safe abortion and safe sex practices; IAA is also advocating for a change in traditional and religious norms that violate sexual and reproductive rights of girls and women like female genital mutilation and child marriage in Cameroon. IAA is carrying out door-to-door meeting with traditional and muslim leaders to dialogue on the health and social implications of these practices on young girls and women. IAA aims to remove all the sexual and reproductive health barriers impacting the lives of girls, from the communities of practice through effective policy advocacy and awareness and empowerment services across Cameroon.
Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) aims to raise $15,000 and have raised $121 so far through globalgiving. IAA need more support and donations of any amount through globalgiving to be able to continue advocating for young people. Your continued donation ensures that we empower girls to take controle of their health future and bodies while advocating for sustainable change in bad norms and practices that underminds the the rights of women and girls in our community. Thank you for being part of our team and for fueling change in our community through your regular donations and support.
