Last year, the country was hit by the worst floods in its history, which affected around 33 million people with the loss of thousands of lives. Millions of people were displaced, and crops, livestock, and everything else were destroyed. Al-Mustafa Welfare Society provided rescue and relief services to 1.75 Million flood victims with your help during this difficult time.
Al-Mustafa's relief teams carried out various relief activities in the following areas:
Relief Services By Al-Mustafa
Below is a careful estimate of rescue and relief services provided by Al-Mustafa to the flood affectees.
Medical Aid:
Medical aid was provided through medical camps arranged in various flood hit areas where people were given first aid plus treatment for various diseases such as malaria, gastro, flu etc.
Cooked Food
Our relief teams were accompanied by professional cooks; fresh meals were prepared on the spot and distributed among the people.
Monthly Food Ration
Apart from fresh meals, our rescue teams also provided one-month food ration bags enough for a family.
Baby Food
Children are the most vulnerable beings and are affected the most by disasters. Toddlers and infants can't survive on adults' food; therefore, we also distributed formula milk, tetra pack milk packs, juices, cereals and other soft foods suitable for little children.
Tents
Due to a disaster of this magnitude, waterproof tents became scarce and their prices spiked too. Al-Mustafa's management made special efforts to arrange waterproof tents on an urgent basis.
Blankets
Mosquito Nets
Mosquito Repellents
Supplies other than the above-listed ones were:
Al-Mustafa's Settlements / Tent Villages
Al-Mustafa Welfare Society also set up settlements/tent villages in various disaster-hit areas where most communities were entirely submerged in flood water. In these settlements, we provided shelter, cooked food, medical aid, rations and other relief items to the affected families until the flood waters receded.
