Reporting on ground from Mirpukhas. Our 7 person team was protected by security guards, police guards, customs officers, IG Motorway in reaching Mirpukhas, and then at least 30 more men on ground in interior Sindh. It was a scary journey carrying across 5 truckloads of 3000 food rations of flour, rice, tea, oil, lentils, biscuits and medicine and ration bags.
What is usually a 5 hour journey from Karachi to Mirpurkhas took 12 hours, as the loaded trucks travelled at slower speed. There is much looting and dacoits along the way. The looters are not for resale, but due to starvation, they loot to save their own family and people.
Fortunately, we made it safely across, with rations intact reaching by 6 am.
Now, time for some rest.
More reports will keep coming from on the ground.
