12 year old Shah Bibi, from Kalakot, was admitted to SHINE Humanity’s urgent care facility on June 13, with fever, diarrhea and vomiting and was found to be lethargic and dehydrated due to acute gastro-enteritis. She recovered soon after administration of intravenous fluids and other necessary medications. She was sent home with instructions to continue antibiotics and oral rehydration salts.
Shah Bibi is just one of the total of 4000- 5000 patients that are seen monthly at the Shikarpur, Bagh-Dhere [Swat] and Charsadda clinics. All medicines are provided free of cost to the patients who belong to lower socio-economic backgrounds and reside in the flood-affected areas where SHINE Humanity continues to serve in partnership with Comprehensive Disaster Response Services [CDRS]
