Yeryuzu Doktorlar has been carrying out various activities in the health fields since 2000s, has determined that the biggest health problem of the Gaza, which was blockaded in 2007 and has been under attacks since then, is the need for physical therapy and rehabilitation services as a result of the needs analysis and opened a Physical Therapy Center by focusing its activities in this field since 2014.
Since 2007, the Gaza Strip has been under blockade and has suffered extensive damage due to intermittent attacks. By 2020, more than 60,000 people had been injured, the majority of whom sustained limb loss or permanent physical disabilities. Between 2008 and 2021, most health facilities became largely inoperative; surgeries were postponed, and the provision of healthcare services was severely disrupted. The widespread destruction of hospitals and clinics has brought Gaza's healthcare system.
In this process, hospitals and health institutions became unusable as a result of severe attacks, and unfortunately, Yeryuzu Doktorlar Khan Yunus Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center was destroyed as a result of these attacks and became unable to provide services.Currently, primary health care services are provided at the health support station established in Alyarmouk Stadium Camp in North Gaza, which is the only accessible health center in the region, and mobile health stations provided
