We want to express our enormous gratitude to our generous supporters and donors. Even during these uncertain times, you continue to keep Peruvian Hearts and our scholars in your hearts. And for that we want to say, thank you.
Our PH scholars continue their studies from home, online. At the beginning of the Pandemic in March we helped approximately 90% of our PH families to obtain Internet access, in order for our scholars to continue with their university classes, which are now completely virtual. Their commitment to their studies, even under such difficult circumstances, makes us proud and shows the strength our PH scholars demonstrate to hold onto their dreams, no matter the obstacles that present themselves.
At this time, the health situation is quite dire. Several of our families have had the COVID virus and fortunately have recovered. Yet even under these dire and distracting circumstances, four PH scholars: Aldeyny, Cecilia, Yanet, and Marcia were recently recognized for their outstanding academic achievements in university and awarded partial scholarships from the Peruvian government.
Aldeyny is in her second semester at Universidad Andina and where she studies Systems Engineering. Her goal is to help children in areas with limited technology by creating advancements that can bring the world and scholarship to rural areas.
Cecilia attends the National University (UNSAAC) in Cusco and studies Education. She is very creative, loves reading, and wants to be a secondary school literature teacher. Like Aldeyny, Cecilia too, plans to use her education to help advance educational opportunities for children in rural parts of Peru.
Marcia is in her 8th semester at Universidad Andina where she studies Orthodontics. She is passionate about her career and committed to making a difference for poor people, giving them access to affordable quality dentistry.
Yanet is in her 3rd semester at the National University in Cusco where she studies Systems Engineering.
We are extremely delighted by our scholars’ academic achievements and proud of their initiative to apply for and be awarded such competitive and highly sought after scholarships.
With the help of supporters like, YOU, we continue to support our girls and their families with the most basic things like food and medication during this difficult time as well. Our hearts are full of thanks for your ongoing generosity. We understand this is a stressful and uncertain time for many people around the world. The love shown by our compassionate Peruvian Hearts family is a constant inspiration for us and motivates our scholars to continue working hard day after day to complete their dreams.
