Thanks to the generosity from our Peruvian Hearts supporters, our PH scholars continue to progress in their university careers with several having received their bachelor’s degrees this past year. All the educational, professional and personal opportunities that we offer the young women in our program would not be possible without the continued support from each of our Peruvian Hearts donors. Thank you, to each and every one of you, for your ongoing loyalty to help us enable and equip our scholars with the knowledge and confidence they need to become strong women leaders who will contribute to their society as they pay it forward to those less fortunate.

We are elated to share with you that after years of perseverance and hard work, several PH scholars recently received their bachelor’s degrees from different universities in Cusco. Cecilia and Jhima both received their degrees in Education from the National University in Cusco (UNSAAC), Maria Fernanda received her degree in Petrochemical Engineering from the UNSAAC, Marcia received her degree in Dentistry from Andina University in Cusco, and Monica received her degree and Title in Early Childhood Education from the Institute Santa Rosa in Cusco. We are proud of each of these five young women for their determination and drive to accomplish their educational goals. Soon, this group of independent women will venture out into the world as professionals and make a significant impact, not only in their career field, but as role models for other young Peruvian women.

In December, a group of Peruvian Hearts scholars participated in a service project at a local primary school in Cusco. In addition to several PH scholars choreographing an interactive dance for the children, a few of our PH mothers prepared hot chocolate that was served with panettone to all the school children. Each child also received a little PH gift baggie, which included some candies and small toys. We are proud of our scholars for planning and participating in this service project and taking action to support others in their community.
