PH Welcomes 10 New Scholars; 2 More PH Scholars Graduate

By Danny Dodson | Executive Director

The newest Peruvian Hearts scholars.
The newest Peruvian Hearts scholars.

Thank you to our PH family for your support year after year. It is thanks to YOUR generosity and ongoing support from our PH family of donors, that we were able to recently recruit more remarkable and driven young women who are in university, to join our growing group of PH scholars. We are excited to welcome 10 new young women who are studying in eight different career fields at the National University in Cusco (UNSAAC). Their career choices are Electrical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Accounting, Psychology, Education, and Communication Sciences. These smart and strong young women have each demonstrated a high level of drive, perseverance, empathy and resiliency. Similar to our other Peruvian Hearts scholars, each of these young women holds within her a strong desire to use her university education to “pay it forward” and help transform their communities and society.

PH scholar, Jessica, recently defended her thesis successfully and received her professional title in Economics from the National University in Cusco. We are proud of Jessica for her hard work, perseverance, and determination to accomplish this dream. She becomes the first member of her family to graduate from university and will now begin the next chapter of her professional career. We know that she will make and create positive change in the world, using her education and her strong sense of self-belief, to take action and make an impact in the lives of others.

We are thrilled to celebrate Peruvian Hearts scholar, Aldy, who recently received her Bachelor’s degree in Systems  Engineering from Andina University in Cusco. During her university career, Aldy demonstrated a unique ability to grow and shine as a strong leader within the college and in her chosen career field! We are proud of the resilient woman that Aldy has become and know that she will go out into the world and add value to the lives of others, specifically through her knowledge of and expertise in the area of technology.

Thank you to each and every Peruvian Hearts donor, volunteer, advocate and member of the PH family who helped to support, encourage and inspire Aldy, Jessica, and each of the other young women in Peruvian Hearts during their professional and personal journey of growth. We are grateful for your loyal generosity and commitment to the dreams of these scholars. Your investment in girls’ education in Peru and faith and confidence in the young women we support, continues to make a remarkable impact in the lives of these young women, which will have a ripple effect for generations to come.
