Ms. Heidi Solba, the General Coordinator of World Cleanup Day Global gave a viedo speech, and announced the great news that World Cleanup Day has been adopted by the United Nations and will officially become an international day from 2024.
His Excellency Hannes Hanso, the Ambassador of Estonia to China, delivered a speech at the conference.
Caicai Wang , the founder of Pickup China and the general coordinator of World Cleanup Day China, made a summary report on the development and influence of World Cleanup Day in mainland China over the past six years.
"Starting from picking up garbage and talking about the participation of all people in sustainable actions" launched a lively collision and exchange. Director Yangzhao Sun from the External Development and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Dr. Da Mao, the founder of the Non-toxic Pioneer, Ms. Zhaoyue Li from Xiaomi Group’s Sustainable Materials Development Department, and Mr. Zheng Gao, the founder of MKT for Good, discussed the issues during the panel session.
During the afternoon session, Ms. Simin Chen from IGDP, Mr. Yang Wu from River Watcher, Mr. Lotus, leader of the Traceless Forestry Group of Friends of Nature, and Mr. Jingyi Zhou from Patagonia conducted talks on plastic waste issues, public education, Leave No Trace in nature, and community operations. share. Nearly 50 partner organizers from 28 cities in 17 provinces sat together and had lively exchanges and discussions on topics of interest to them.
In 2024, Pickup China will maintain our original intention and continue to speak out and promote the issue of outdoor garbage.
