Support a Pickup China Network: For a clean planet

The Pick Up China team achieved the following progress in public education, communication, and advocacy in July:

The Pickup China team has fully launched the work for the 2024 World Cleanup Day since July, and has completed three online empowerment training sessions. Through professional and comprehensive experience in pick-up actions, the team has given participating partners more confidence in organizing and executing activities. At the same time, the team has released the 2024 Chinese theme "Picking up for Nature," the theme visual poster, and the latest peripheral products.

In terms of promoting issues, Pickup china team has jointly initiated a survey on carrying outdoor garbage with the industry, recruiting outdoor clubs, outdoor enthusiasts, travel agencies, and other outdoor industry groups to join. They call on more individual participants to carry all the garbage they generate during outdoor activities with them and upload the data to the designated channel. The purpose of the survey is to encourage everyone to observe the garbage they generate outdoors while understanding the importance of self-management of garbage in alleviating the problem of outdoor garbage.

In terms of public education and advocacy for action, this month's Bag-it-away saw 15 partners initiate 35 picking activities and 11 advocacy events, mobilizing a total of 1,400 public volunteers to participate in the actions, completing the cleanup of 1091.82 kilograms of outdoor garbage, of which 124.75 kilograms of plastic were effectively recycled.

At the same time, The Pick Up China team has launched a topic-sharing column called "Waste Talking", planning to regularly invite experts and scholars from the industry to share and exchange observations and related results on waste. This month, Zhang Yuanyuan from Nature Field was invited to discuss the topic of pesticide packaging waste.
