1. Joint Research Action for World Environment Day
On World Environment Day in 2025, Pickup China partnered with 21 cities nationwide to carry out outdoor waste research activities. A total of 601 volunteers took part, encompassing three typical environments—mountains, rivers, and beaches—and together, they collected 594 kilograms of waste while recording over 7,000 waste data points. The research indicated that plastic waste was the most prevalent, with fast-moving consumer goods brands such as Coca-Cola and Nongfu Spring frequently found in various locations, underscoring the pressing need for brand accountability and systemic management. This collaborative research effort was met with active participation and acclaim from attendees, who expressed their readiness to participate in similar cleanup and research initiatives in the future.
2. Ocean Day Film Night
On June 7th, Pickup China hosted an Ocean Day-themed film screening, where over 20 participants witnessing the Plastic Odyssey team creatively remove 9 tons of island waste and transform it into recycled resources. During the post-screening discussion, attendees remarked that "environmental action can be so tangible," inspiring daily plastic reduction efforts, from using fewer plastic bags to supporting recycled designs.
3. Reuse Day Eco-Market
On June 14th, Pickup China took part in the "Reuse Day" event, organized by Break Free From Plastic at Patagonia's Shanghai Riverside store. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about reducing plastic usage. The event drew a significant number of attendees, during which Pickup China educated visitors on the issues of plastic pollution through consultations and interactive activities, while promoting sustainable consumption practices.
4. Institutional Learning and Exchange
-Sustainable Development Seminar for the Fresh Beverage Industry
On June 8, Pickup China was invited to attend the "Sustainable Development Seminar for the Fresh Beverage Industry," co-hosted by Hefei Shanshui Environmental Protection Development Center and Hefei University of Technology. Held in Shanghai, the event featured keynote speeches from government, legal, and media representatives, along with roundtable discussions, aiming to translate industry plastic reduction "ideas into effective actions" and push businesses toward "higher environmental accountability."
-Collaborative Governance of Pesticide Packaging Waste
On June 20, Pickup China joined the Pesticide Packaging Waste Governance Co-Creation Meeting organized by Nature Fields, engaging with multiple stakeholders to explore recycling solutions. Drawing on its waste management expertise, the organization provided practical recommendations for collaborative governance, further expanding its environmental cooperation network.
