Dear Patrons,
It is our honor and pleasure to have you as partners, supporters, and donors. On behalf of Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization, I am very much excited to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all the support that you have offered so far for our Rwanda forestation project.
In this field report, we are sharing with you, the progress of maintenance of sapling planting planted for Land 4 located in Taba cell, Ryinzovu village in the Rulindo district of Burega sector, Rwanda. This area’s Google code is Rwanda:624R+Q3 (Google plus Code). This time we are doing maintenance by removing unwanted trees and also as the soil compaction prevents water and oxygen from infiltrating the tree’s roots, we are digging the soil to make sure that the soil is not compacted. We are doing mulch about 6 inches from the base of the tree so that we cannot damage our tree roots.
This land is having around 900 passion fruits, the trees in this land were mostly passion fruits but at the edge of the land, we are having Grevillea. RWAYDAVO Volunteers and project workers are supporting in digging and adding the organic fertilizer. RWAYDAVO volunteers are supervising the activity and ensure that maintenance is going as planned.
We will be doing such kind of maintenance regularly and to achieve this successfully, we need ongoing funds for the regular maintenance of the trees and the land. The maintenance will require maximum care and supervision to make sure that trees are growing well. This activity will include pruning the area properly in order to keep the trees healthy and strong. As we might all be aware, water is food for our trees and plants – that’s why effective watering is one of the most important ways to care for and maintain, so watering might be needed during the dry season.
We request you to donate generously to our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.
We thank you for everything that you have done for our project, and we look forward to your continued support.
Thanks & Best Regards.
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
