Dear Patrons,
Thank you so much for the support that you have provided so far for planting 40,000 trees in Northern Rwanda. We are glad to share a detailed report on how trees are growing. Trees are planted at location Rwanda: 72PR+89P (Google Plus code). This area’s name is Buyoga, This land, the fencing were done (See attached photo). This will highly protect our trees from disturbances from animals like goats, cows, and sheep, as well as from the disturbances caused by the humans.
In this January 2024, we are planning to do maintenance activities below:
90% of trees planted in this land are citrons and maintaining citrus trees, such as citron trees, is crucial for their health and productivity.
1. Fertilization
During the fertilization we are planning to add organic fertilizer from January 2024.
Mulching:
From January 2024, we will do mulching around the base of the tree to help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. Use organic mulch such as wood chips or straw. Maintain a mulch layer of 2-4 inches but avoid piling the mulch against the trunk to prevent trunk rot.
Pruning
Prune the tree to shape it and encourage a strong, open canopy. Remove any dead or diseased branches. RWAYDAVO will lightly prune to maintain a desirable shape, but we will try to avoid heavy pruning as this is the first year to allow the tree to establish a strong root system.
Pest Control:
RWAYDAVO does regular inspect the tree for signs of pests such as aphids, mites, or scale insects. Treat any infestations promptly.
Observation and Adjustments:
RWAYDAVO try to do regular observe the overall health of the tree, including the color of the leaves and the general appearance.
We promise you to keep sending updates about this project, and we request you to keep supporting our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.
We thank you for everything that you have done for our project, and we look forward for your continued support.
Thanks and Best Regards.
