Dear Patrons,
It is our honor and pleasure to have you as partners, supporters, and donors. On behalf of Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization, I am very much excited to take this opportunity to thank you very much for all the support that you have offered so far for our Rwanda forestation project.
In this field report, we are sharing with you, the progress of Buyoga land 7 preparation activities. The land seven preparations started December 2023 and we are expecting to finalize the land preparation in the second week of February 2024. The tree planting will be carried out on 10th February 2, 2024 and I take this opportunity to invite everyone who wishes to experience tree planting activities in Rwanda. Currently we are doing Terracing; Terracing is an effective technique that will prevent erosion in newly planted forests, especially because the land is on slopes or hilly terrain. To control Erosion, It is crucial for the successful establishment and growth of trees in this land 7.
Together RWAYDAVO workers and volunteers are doing the preparation of land 7. This land will accommodate 15,000 trees. RWAYDAVO volunteers supervise the activity and ensured that the land preparation activities are done according to the guidance because RWAYDAVO volunteers conducted a teaching session before the activities starts.
Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary organization is growing and maintaining more than 20,000 saplings in the Nursery area. This includes Grevelia robust, eucalyptus and citrons. We are preparing the saplings at location Rwanda: 72PG +VXG (Google Plus code). This area’s name is Buyoga. On 10th Feb 2023, we will start tree planting activities for land 7 and we will keep sharing the progress of the planting activities till the land is completely planted.
The maintenance is a key activity after tree planting and fencing. RWAYDAVO volunteers and project workers will ensure that maintenance is happening as planned to facilitate our trees to grow well without disturbance. To achieve this successfully, we need ongoing funds for the regular maintenance of the saplings and the land. The maintenance will require maximum care and supervision to make sure that trees are growing well.
We request you to donate generously for our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.
We thank you for everything that you have done for our project, and we look forward to your continued support.
Thanks and Best Regards.
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
RWAYDAVO President
