Dear Patrons,
We are very happy to thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.
We are so excited to share with you the progress of sapling planting activities for land seven. We planted saplings at location Rwanda: Lat -1.748808o Long30.058557o
On Saturday, 10th February 2024, we planted more than 5000 saplings of Eucaryptus in Land 7
We take this opportunity thank students from Muyanza Primary school, Butangamuntu primary school and Kiyanza primary school for their valuable and active participation in this forestation project. In this activity , a total of 59 students participated in the planting. RWAYDAVO Volunteers and project workers helped in digging holes deep enough to cover the tree's root ball. The student would remove the root-ball from the container and place the tree in the hole. It was amazing to see children doing such amazing work! They enjoyed the activities very much the activities. We were very Lucky to be with 3 international Volunteers (see attached photos). Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary organization volunteers and leaders ensured that the activities happened as planned. RWAYDAVO will continue to ensure trees are growing well; we will be replacing the ones that can burn out or not growing due to different reasons.
To keep planting more trees and maintaining them , we e need ongoing funds for the regular maintenance of the saplings and the land 7 and others lands planted before. The maintenance will require maximum care and supervision to make sure that trees are growing well. This activity will also include pruning the area properly in order to keep the trees healthy and strong, Water is food for our trees and plants – that’s why effective watering is one of the most important ways to care and maintain. Also, as the soil compaction prevents water and oxygen from infiltrating to the tree’s roots, we will make sure that the soil is not compacted. We will be doing mulch about 6 inches from the base of your tree so that we cannot damage our trees roots.
We request you to donate generously for our project so that we can keep working and achieve our goals. You could also consider doing a monthly recurring donation for our project, which will help us with our ongoing work. The link for the monthly recurring donation is mentioned below in the report.
We thank you for everything that you have done for our project, and we look forward for your continued support.
Thanks and Best Regards.
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
