Planting high biodiversity trees that grow into a natural feeling forest is no small task. We invest extra energy, experience, and time and resources to collect as many different kinds of trees as we can find. This unique aspect of our work makes all the difference in the ultimate health and longevity of all our community reforestation projects.
Now, in late September, we begin to focus on the maintenance of trees planted this year and in previous years since they all require follow up labor and care to actually survive. We also focus on production of trees for next year 2022 planting season which means seed collection all over our zone. We love to bring community members with us for the fun and education of the experience hiking to mature trees to collect their seeds or baby trees sprouting underneath them. Learning how each individual seed germinates best has taken years of trial and error.
The forests we grow are stronger and more resistant to plagues for their wide biodiversity. The selection of fruits and animal fodder produced in these regenerated forests makes a huge difference in local economies and food supplies. Soils regenerate their fertilkity while wildlife returns and thrives for future generations,.
It all begins with a seed. With the right conditions, a baby tree sprouts and can grow to robust maturity with your sponsorship and our ongoing, committed dedicated care.
