Dear friends,
Last month, FTPF was hard at work once again in Guatemala, carrying out our work of planting and distributing fruit trees to vulnerable families and children in the riverside communities of Rio Dulce.
We're thrilled to share the exciting news of yet another successful project. A total of 175 fruit trees have now taken root, bringing hope and sustenance to schools and homes alike. The enthusiasm for this endeavor was palpable as we planted 100 trees directly at three local schools: Las Brisas Elementary and Middle schools, along with Casa Guatemala.
Additionally, we reached out to the neighboring villages, distributing 75 trees to eager families. In collaboration with our valued partners at Casa Guatemala, a workshop was conducted alongside the planting and distribution events. This proved invaluable for sharing best practices and exchanging knowledge. Families in attendance could take a piece of this initiative home with them, nurturing a sense of ownership and connection via home-grown orchards. We also visited previously planted orchards, seeing that many are beginning to thrive in spite of the region's natural and economic challenges of the past several years.
While celebrating these achievements, we recognize that the demand for the nutritional, environmental, and economic benefits of fruit trees remains high in the neighboring communities. To address this, we're dedicated to expanding the project in the years to come, working hand in hand with our local partners.
To continue our efforts and reach more people in rural Guatemala, we kindly invite you to consider supporting us. Your contribution – whether through donation or sharing – directly contributes to improved household nutrition, the preservation of local ecosystems, and the livelihoods of families in Guatemala.
Join us in making a difference. Help us sow the seeds of positive change by donating to or sharing this project. Together, we can nurture thriving families, inspired students, and flourishing villages in Guatemala.
