Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is an essential tool in the timely evaluation of critically ill patients and those with undifferentiated diagnoses. For this reason, POCUS training is a growing part of medical education, particularly in emergency medicine (EM), a successful implementation of POCUS requires emergency providers to acquire and interpret images, as well as apply and integrate these interpretations into clinical practice in order to save lives. In an effort to improve the diagnostic capabilities, accuracy, and timeliness of Emergency Care providers in Uganda, Global Emergency Care (GEC) offered capacity building training in POCUS for emergency medical staff at two medical facilities where a total of 22 clinicians were trained in 2rd quarter 2024. The trained clinicians were able to demonstrate learnt skills in diagnosis and Patient management and they are hoped to save 10,560 lives annually at their facilities
