By Charles Ndyamwijuka | Operation Manager
As demonstrated by our trainee Scovia, who wrote…
“Due to my point-of-care ultrasound training with Global Emergency Care, my patients are better managed. If, for example, the baby is lying in a breech presentation, as a result of this training, l now know how to handle the mother better, increasing the chance of survival for both mother and child. I can now use a portable ultrasound machine to check how the baby is presenting, checking the fetal heart as compared to before. Doing Bedside ultrasound myself surely not only improves and quickens the time my patient spends in the hospital, but it also saves lives!”
“Those of us who manage pregnant mothers on a daily basis are in dire need of more trained healthcare professionals with the appropriate skills. These skills are crucial in our work, enabling us to handle and advise our mothers more effectively. Using the ultrasound machine as a midwife has given me more insights into each mother’s situation, and the ability to quickly recommend further management from a senior or specialist."
