Hello friends!
We are excited to share our progress with you at the start of 2021! Looking back over the last 12 months of tremendous change and uncertainty for children all over the world has given us new energy to provide resources and mental wellbeing support to kids.
We know that with school and homelife disrupted, one of the most under-reported and under-supported issues is Mental Health for children. We want to train and support a large cohort of non-clinical mental health helpers who can bring skills and tools of emotional intelligence to children in-person or virtually.
POP-UP Festivals are a unique solution to our moment, and we are so grateful to you for your support.
This past December, we had an outpouring of support and we are able to expand our fundraising efforts. In 2021 we want to train 50 new mentors and create “collections” of POP-UP activities based on topics like “managing anger” or “making friends.” We hope these curated collections will make it easier for you to choose activities that meet your children’s needs.
Here's a quick story from one of our volunteers:
W. atteded an in-person POP-UP Festival event with his daughter at her school when she was able to return. He loved sharing the experience and seeing her reunite with her and her friends. His favorite activity was Friendship Medal when the girls each shared something they appreciated about their friendship. W. was so excited about POP-UP he took his own materials with him on a recent trip to Tibet and led activities with children. (see photo below)
If you are a supporter but have not checked out the POP-UP activities yourself, I personally invite you to sign up for POP-UP so that you can access the collection. We want more people to find the resources this year and you are a key player in that outreach.
We’re so excited to reach out to as many children around the world as possible and provide them wellbeing resources. We’d really appreciate you spreading the word and encouraging people in your network to be part of the festival. Please feel free to share POP-UP festival registration page (see link below)
Thank you for being a part of our POP-UP community and helping us increase children’s wellbeing around the world.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman
