After the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Guinea, MindLeaps begins a new phase of programming in Conakry, the capital of Guinea.
MindLeaps Guinea is welcoming a new cohort of 30 students to our brand new center in Conakry. The students will receive MindLeaps' structured dance curriculum three days per week, daily porridge, and English language lessons. October marks the start of the new school year in Guinea, and we are hoping that all 30 students will be ready to re-integrate into formal education following several months in the MindLeaps program. We look forward to working with these new students through the MindLeaps program this summer and fall.
In order to serve our expanding work in Conakry, MindLeaps Guinea has hired several more teachers, including a new Children's Coordinator, Martin Mamadouno.
Born in Boké, Martin obtained his BA in Mathematics from Lycée Kipé in 2010. He has also received certifications from the National Institute of Statistics and Guinea’s agriculture and food agency. He has also worked in marketing and media services. In 2016 and 2017, he worked with MindLeaps through its local partnerships with Hope of Guinea, Guinee Edugrade and Ruben’s Shoes in the capacity of Children's Coordinator. We are excited to welcome Martin to the MindLeaps Guinea team, and look forward to his work in rehabilitating vulnerable youth in Guinea.
