Hi ! This is Alizeta, midwife-in-training. I am extremely proud and grateful for this opportunity to receive training in midwifery thanks to your support for my scholarship. Though I did very well in secondary school and qualified for this training, my family would never be able to support my training.
In school, I am learning to provide my very best nursing and medical services to patients: in prenatal care, during labor and delivery, postnatal care and care for the newborn; in counseling women regarding the advantages of family planning and in the provision of these services; and in providing early childhood vaccinations and STD testing and treatment. With my dedication to the profession of midwifery, my perseverance and my positive attitude toward the challenges of student life, I look forward to my future as a midwife with enthusiasm and commitment to the health of women and children.
At the end of my three years of training, I hope to be able to contribute to the development of my country, especially in the area of health. I look forward to giving all of my potential to the development of the national health care system in general and to the health needs of women in particular.
My sincere thanks for your continued support for Postsecondary Education for Girls in Burkina Faso. It means everything to young women like myself who could never obtain training without our scholarships; and to the improvement of maternal and child health care services in rural Burkina Faso.
