Latifatou, age 24, is a newly graduated midwife. Following the death of her father, she was left with no resources to support her postsecondary training. She is most grateful for the scholarship she received, thanks to your generous donations, allowing her to study midwifery, “a dream which has given me a new life filled with hope”. With the equivalent of a Bachelors of Science degree in midwifery, Latifatou looks forward to applying her skills to assist women in all aspects of their reproductive health care needs: prenatal care, delivery and postnatal care (of mothers and infants). As she awaits her posting to a health facility, she echoes the appreciation expressed by all of our scholarship recipients to GlobalGiving donors and to Global NEEED Burkina: “Je ne finirai jamais de les remercier” (I will never stop thanking them).
I proudly add the words of a long-time donor, “I know this work personally and you can't spend a dollar better than with this fund and the organization (Global NEEED Burkina) it supports in Burkina Faso that is truly transforming the lives of multiple generations of girls, women, and families to come.”
