Greetings GlobalGiving donors! My name is Balguissa. I am 22 years old and a first-year student in the government’s three-year midwifery training at the National School of Public Health in Ouahigouya. My father died many years ago and my mother works as a farmer in order to feed my brother, three sisters and me. It is hard.
I studied hard in primary and secondary school and I was ecstatic when I received a postsecondary scholarship for midwifery training from Global NEEED Burkina. As the oldest child in my family, I always knew that I would have to help my mother and my siblings. Alas, with my training, I will be able to. Equally important is that as a midwife, I will be able help mothers in all aspects of their reproductive health. This is my dream vocation.
Thank you for supporting me and for supporting the training of other young women like me whose only hope for receiving this training is with the scholarships we have received. Please continue to support the training of young women from indigent families through your donations to GlobalGiving. Thank you!
Our (Burkina Faso Girls’ Education Fund) goal for the 2023 – 2024 school year is to fund 15 scholarships for midwifery training for young indigent women in northern Burkina Faso, providing the crucial key for these qualified young women to be able to train for a profession important to the health of mothers and children in Burkina Faso. A three-year scholarship costs $4,000. Please join us in helping these young women. Our sincere thank you to our recurrent donors for your support.
