Despite the challenging political situation in the country, the National Trust of Georgia (NTG) has continued its efforts to protect and preserve Georgia's cultural heritage monuments while increasing public engagement in the field.
The National Trust of Georgia is developing tourist routes to promote and enhance awareness of the country’s cultural and natural heritage. A clear example of this is the one-week study visit organized in May for Greek colleagues across the country, as well as the cultural route carried out in August in Khevsureti together with international partners.
The National Trust of Georgia is also actively involved in the activities organized by the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO) and continues its professional cooperation with Europa Nostra. This collaboration was reflected in June, when the Co-Chair of the National Trust of Georgia participated in the Inclusive European Heritage Residency held in Hardwick Hall, United Kingdom
The Trust strives to make cultural heritage more accessible and engaging for the younger generation. For this purpose, the “Tuta Workshop” was established, where various cultural heritage-related classes are held twice a week for students.
The Trust also continues to support and encourage individuals across the country who voluntarily protect and care for both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. To this end, a new tool has been added to the Fund’s website, allowing users to locate and explore on an interactive map the people engaged in cultural heritage protection throughout Georgia.
