This project will help prevent birth complications in rural Ghana by improving access to maternal healthcare services, prenatal monitoring, skilled delivery support, and emergency care for pregnant women. Many women in underserved communities face serious risks during pregnancy and childbirth due to limited healthcare infrastructure and delayed medical attention. This project will support safer pregnancies and healthier births for vulnerable mothers and babies.
Birth complications remain a major cause of maternal and newborn deaths in rural Ghana. Limited access to prenatal care, shortages of skilled healthcare workers, inadequate medical equipment, and delayed emergency response place many women and infants at risk. Conditions such as hemorrhage, infections, obstructed labor, and hypertension often go untreated due to poor healthcare access.
This project will provide prenatal care services, maternal health education, essential medical supplies, and support for safe deliveries in rural communities. It will also strengthen emergency referral systems and improve access to skilled healthcare workers and maternal monitoring services to detect and manage complications early.
The project will reduce maternal and newborn deaths, improve pregnancy outcomes, and strengthen maternal healthcare systems in rural Ghana. Women will gain better access to quality healthcare throughout pregnancy and childbirth, leading to healthier families and stronger communities. Over time, the project will contribute to improved maternal and child health nationwide.
