SUMMARY
Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) (Cancer, Diabetes, Heart disease, chronic lung disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Mental health ailments syphilis) continues to be major health problems in Uganda. These diseases not only affect people's health but they also negatively impact the socioeconomic development of Uganda by increasing the financial burden on the health system and through the loss of productivity of people who get ill or die too early. This therefore, a quarterly report of the aver NCDs in Uganda for the quarter January to march 2025. The project coverage areas are Kibuku, Budaka, Pallisa and Butebo districts, Eastern Uganda.
PANNED ACTIVITIES FOR THE QUARTER:
ACHIEVEMENTS:
360 screened for diabetes
620 screened for hypertension
120 adolescent girls and young women screened for breast cancer
42 diabetic cases positives identified and initiated on treatment
59 cases with hypetetention identified and initiated on treatment
1 suspected breast cancer positive client identified and referred for further screaming and confirmation
CHALLENGES:
The organization is faced with limited funding to implement the project yet the demand for services is high.
RECOMMENDATION:
These diseases not only affect people's health but they also negatively impact the socioeconomic development of Uganda by increasing the financial burden on the health system and through the loss of productivity of people who get ill or die too early. We therefore, request of well-wishers to partners with us to implement this project
