Last September, trainers Melva Gonzalez and Ximena Soares dictated a course on prevention of sexual violence against children in Uruguay, directed to Christian leaders of LADU (Asambleas de Dios in Uruguay) that work with children and teenagers on a daily basis in Colonia.
Strengthening through play against sexual abuse is a training course for educators to carry out workshops with children for them to have tools to help prevent these situations. Workshops are carried out through stories, games, pictures, dancing and singing, while learning.
LADU is working in Uruguay to prevent these situations within Church attendees. With great experience working with children, the course was very fruitful among the educators of LADU, who now claim that their eyes were now open and have more knowledge on the subject and feel more confident to both detect and help prevent abuse of children through play.
The course took 21 hours where 26 people worked through the program as designed by the trainers alternating theory with more practical tools.
