Vaccination Project Update Fall 2022

We have gathered our final data on vaccinations for the Ouelessebougou Alliance 2021-2022 fiscal year and the results are staggering. Thanks to you, 12,000 children ages 0-5 have been vaccinated against nine life-threatening diseases including polio, yellow fever, measles, and more. In addition to the children, 2,600 expectant mothers received maternal immunizations, helping our cause even further. One in ten children born in Mali passes away by the age of five years old. Our immunization efforts are helping to reduce that number, one vaccine at a time.

Thanks to your generosity and our partnership with the Ouelessebougou health district, these vaccines are provided completely free of charge to the children and mothers receiving them. Even those who live in small, isolated villages receive vaccines from a traveling healthcare worker who brings the vaccines on his or her motorcycle across the rough terrain. Small groups of mothers and children meet under the village mango tree to receive their vaccines. Thousands of others gather in rural health centers to become vaccinated. Their immunization card is one of the few pieces of paper they save and safeguard. They have learned to understand the critical importance of regular vaccines.

All of us at Ouelessebougou Alliance thank you for your generosity in this life-saving effort. Thanks to your donations, we have achieved record success in saving children’s lives in Mali. With just 42 days left in 2022, please donate today and help us raise an additional $1,650 to reach our project goal of $40,000 by the end of the year. No amount is too small. Help give the gift of LIFE. Thank you.
