December POMC
Here in D.C. we had our first snow last week, and our office has just been decorated for the holidays! There’s no denying: it’s now December. We are in the final month of 2014, and it really has been a great year. As the Project of the Month Club, you’ve come together to give more than $65,720 this year! This is truly remarkable!
Last month, you and 190 other club members donated $6,427 to Move For Hunger to“Help Us Fight Hunger in America.” Your support helped to coordinate food drives, enhance collection capacity and add new partners!
This month your donations will go to Dream A Dream’s project, “Empowering Vulnerable Young People with Life Skills.” This project reaches out to 4,000 youth in Bangalore, India to provide quality educational programming, including sports, arts, and mentoring.
Vishal from Dream a Dream was so excited to learn that his project was chosen. “Thank you very much indeed,” he said. “This is absolutely fantastic news. We are delighted to be selected. The universe has mysterious ways to demonstrate its support and encourage us to go on in our work and your support comes at a time when we most needed it. The support will help 100 young people from the most vulnerable communities in Bangalore, India to attend a 4-day experiential camp that will help them develop the critical Life Skills needed to overcome adversities in their life and learn to make healthy life choices as they enter adolescence. It is a strong validation for our work and we are deeply grateful for your support.”
From us and from all of the people you have helped this year, thank you! See you in 2015!
Warmly,
Mari and the team at GlobalGiving
