Dear Project of the Month Club,
We’re pleased to share with you that last month, you and 138 other Project of the Month Club members raised $3,916 for "Give Trafficked Girls a New Future in Cambodia," a project offering girls a safe place to live and receive care after being rescued from the sex trade.
Athena Pond, the leader of this project, wanted to let you know that your donations will allow her organization to upgrade its therapy rooms, provide additional therapeutic tools for its therapists, and will help provide the salaries for the Cambodian clinical therapy team this year. At Transitions, they individualize each girls' therapy program to meet her unique needs and give her the best chance of overcoming trauma and finding her voice. To do this, Transitions use professional trauma counseling methods, art and play therapy, group therapy and more.
For October's Project of the Month, we're pleased to introduce to you a project called Support 80 Orphans in South Africa, led by the Fikelela AIDS Project. They offer a short term home to orphans and abandoned children, about 60% of whom are HIV positive. After the children regain their strength and their health, this project places them with supported foster caregivers in the community so that these once-abandoned children can grow up with loving families.
Rachel Mash, Project Leader, wanted to share with you her message of appreciation upon learning that she was selected to participate in the Project of the Month Club:
"We are so excited to have been selected for October! We really appreciate you thinking of us. It means a lot to know that we have friends in other parts of the world who care and want to help us to make a difference in the lives of children."
Thank you so much for your support and compassion, and we hope that you are proud to know that you are offering an opportunity for children facing adversity to grow up in healthy, happy homes. Your support is having an earth-changing impact around the world.
Warm regards,
Mari and the GlobalGiving Team
