After bushfires and floods, countless Australian animals are left without food, shelter, or safety. Habitat destruction and extreme weather events put koalas, wombats, kangaroos, and countless other native species at risk every day.

Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service Limited is working around the clock to respond to these growing needs. From tiny orphaned joeys to displaced wildlife, their team operates a 24/7 Wildlife Rescue Office that provides emergency rescue, veterinary treatment, and long-term rehabilitation so animals can return safely to the wild.

Here’s what Marnie Frost, WIRES Head of Fundraising, wanted to share about your support this month:

“We are so thankful the generous GlobalGiving community has remained committed to the rescue and recovery of vulnerable Australian wildlife. You're helping us respond to around 140,000 distressed native animals every year, and wherever possible, giving them a second chance of life in the wild! Thank you!”

Beyond providing 24/7 emergency assistance across Australia, WIRES also trains hundreds of new volunteers annually and supports long-term ecosystem recovery and wildfire mitigation programs through partnerships with wildlife rehabilitators, researchers, conservation professionals, and government agencies.

Your donation keeps their Wildlife Rescue Office open 24/7, fuels their ambulances, supplies thousands of volunteers with rescue and rehabilitation equipment, and provides specialist food and formula for animals in care.

Thank you for supporting organizations like WIRES, making the world a better place.

With gratitude, and until next time,

Yami + The GlobalGiving Team
