GlobalGiving Project of the Month Club

Dear Project of the Month Club,

Happy June! We're thrilled to share with you about the impact of your generous Project of the Month Club donation last month.

In May, 147 of you gave a combined $4,939 to Help Children with Cancer Access Treatment. Here's what Sasha, the project leader wanted to share with you about your gift:  

"Your funds are helping a child from a low income family in the Former Soviet Union pay for cancer-related medical expenses and get adequate treatment. It is essential that children like this who struggle with cancer have the chance of receiving uninterrupted treatment no matter of there family income. Thank you for making that possible!" 

We're also pleased to share that this month, your donations will be pooled to benefit a project in India called: "Empower India's Trafficked Girls Through Education." This project, run by Kranti, empowers trafficked girls and daughters of sex workers to become catalysts of social change and lead the women's revolution in India. 

June is the start of the academic year in India, so the foks at Kranti were so glad to hear that they would be able to offer more academic and extra-curricular support to the girls they serve (they call the girls Revolutionaries!). The Revolutionaries were also ecstatic. When she receieved news about your donations, 12-year-old Sumaiya said, "Extra donations? Does this mean I get to take karate and drawing AND piano classes?? Tell all those people in America that I said thank you!" (Don't worry, we've also told her that all of the Club members aren't from America - gifts come from NINE different countries every month!) 

We look forward to providing you further updates about this project in July. Thank you so much for your ongoing generosity. It's incredible to see the way that you are giving alongside people you've never met in a way that's changing the world!
