Empower India's Trafficked Girls Through Education

Dear Project of the Month Club,

It's our pleasure to share with you about the impact of your generous Project of the Month Club donation last month.

Last month, 143 of you combined your funds from nine different countries on five different continents to create one large gift! We received donations from Australia, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, and the United States. The $4,369 you raised went to "Empower India's Trafficked Girls Through Education."

This project, run by Kranti, empowers trafficked girls and daughters of sex workers in India to become catalysts of social change and lead the women's revolution in India. Robin, the project leader from Kranti, says that this sum will be enough to cover the educational costs of 8 girls for an entire year, including their academics (school fees), tutoring classes, and extracurricular activities. You have really changed these eight girls' lives!

We're also pleased to announce July's project of the month: "Protect Girls from Child Domestic Labor in Peru," a superstar project run by Asociacion Grupo de Trabajo Redes (AGTR). AGTR trains, tutors, and offers legal advice to domestic workers in Lima. This project helps break a heritage of poverty and servitude passed from mother to daughter in Peru because of lack of opportunity and education. As young women gain skills, confidence and understanding of their rights through AGTR's services, the 800 girls and women they serve each year will pursue more education and secure better jobs.

We look forward to updating you at the end of the month with details about how AGTR will use your combined donations.

Thank you again for your generosity!

Warmly,

Mari and the GlobalGiving team
