Dear Project of the Month Club,

Now that the cherry blossoms have fallen and left their beautiful mark on Washington, DC, I’d like to take the time to update you on the lives and projects your generous contributions allow to bloom.

In April, the 180 members of this club raised $5,874 for “Hope For Begging Talibé Children, St-Louis Senegal” run by Maison de La Gare. Your incredible donation was the catalyst for the expansion of Maison de La Gare’s dormitory which provides a safe home for boys begging on the street. Project Leader, Rod LeRoy, told us, “we were thrilled with your news of the Project of the Month; this extra money is just what we need to kick-start our project for a home for talibé children in crisis and in transition.” In addition to the construction project, these funds will clothe, feed, educate and give hope to over 350 Senegalese talibé children.

May’s project is “Help Save Victimized Wildlife” run by Wildlife Alliance. This project runs a world class rehabilitation center for injured or malnourished animals in Cambodia. Wildlife Alliance’s past successes include: fitting the first ever pachyderm prosthetic on Chhouk, a baby elephant, educating hundreds of Cambodian school children about their fragile ecosystem and how to protect it, and helping bring the indigenous slow loris back from the brink of extinction. We can’t wait to hear how Wildlife Alliance will use your gift.

We are consistently impressed to see the impact a few, dedicated individuals can make from across the globe. Thank you for your continued generosity and compassion; we couldn’t do it without you. Keep an eye out for another club update in June!

Warmly,

Mari and the GlobalGiving Team
