Dear Project of the Month Club,

This past month, GlobalGiving has gone through some major changes! We gave our entire website a brand new look (and let our old mascot, Elliot the bird spread her wings and leave the nest). We also launched one of our most ambitious projects yet, GG Rewards, which will help us reward the nonprofits with the greatest commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Our new updates aren’t the only thing helping our partners become more effective; your donations to the Project of the Month Club are also making a huge impact!

In July, 216 of you gave a total of $6,800 to Vision Africa’s Train 300 Destitute Kenyan Girls For Self-Reliance project. Thanks to your donation, their “Seed of Hope” program will be able to transform the lives of women through counseling and training that will improve their living standards and help them gain financial independence.

This August, your monthly donation will support The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project's Provide Education To AIDS Orphans In Rural Uganda project, which frees children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS from the cycle of poverty by providing them with high-quality, free education.

Daniele Reisbig, Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project’s Development and Grants Manager, has this message for you:

“Thank you on behalf of the 697 students who will benefit from your generosity this month. Every one of the students YOU will help this month have lost at least one parent to HIV/AIDS—most have lost both parents. Because of you, these children can hope for a better life out of poverty. When they grow up, they will be able to use the education you have provided them to send their own children to school and to give back to their communities. Your gift will make sure that generations of children in Uganda will have better lives.”

So what can your donation do for The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project? When we asked Daniele, she knew exactly how it will help:

“[The support] you will provide this month will provide 20 HIV/AIDS orphans in rural Uganda with free primary education, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, textbooks, healthcare, and two hot meals every day for an entire school year.”

An entire year of school for twenty children? You’re ensuring a brighter future not just for them, but for their entire community. We are always awed by the tremendous impact Project of the Month Club members like you make each and every month. Thank you for your continued support!

Warmly,

Mari + the GlobalGiving Team
